Bin Fijaa Towers is located in an up market suburb of Dar-es-Salaam called Oyster Bay. Previously this area was dominated by private bungalows on large plots. The area borders on the sea front and beaches.
In 2007 the clients commissioned A.Jivanjee Architects to design a low rise apartment complex which will have 3 and 2 bedroom apartments for rent only. The complex contains 24 apartments Additionally a private apartment building is part of the complex which will contain 8 large 4 bedroom apartments for the Bin Fijaa family with a large reception hall at ground floor.
The complex has basement parking and services and a garden deck level with a swimming pool and children play area. All apartments look into this garden courtyard, as well as towards the seafront. The entire complex is clad in stonecrete panels with special detailing in appropriate places. This finish is able to resist sea salt spray, and gives an up market presentation to this project.
A.Jivanjee Architects designed this project in close liaison with the clients to achieve an optimum usage and returns on the investment.
